All features of the NORA-W40 series modules are easily accessible from the evaluation board. All GPIOs and interfaces supported on the NORA-W40 series modules are conveniently exposed and can be accessed via pin headers and 2 mikroBUS headers. The USB connection provides the physical interface for both power supply and programming of the EVK board. When connected to a computer via the USB connector, the connection is recognized as a serial communication interface (COM ports under Windows OS or /dev/ttyUSBx under Linux and MacOS). In addition, the EVK has a USB peripheral port, a reset button, a boot button and two user buttons.
The EVK-NORA-W40 has two mikroBUS connectors and can therefore easily host MIKROE Click boards™. With over 1,400 Click boards available, developers can explore endless possibilities by combining u-blox modules with functionality from different technology providers - all using the same kit. Simply plug the desired modules into the mikroBUS connectors to get started.
The EVK-NORA-W40 boards are available in the following two variants to accommodate alternative antenna and software solutions. The EVK-NORA-W401 comes with the open CPU NORA-W401 module and U.FL antenna connector for connection to external antennas. The EVK-NORA-W406 comes with the open CPU NORA-W406 module with an internal 2.4 GHz PCB Trace antenna.
