Our partner Honeywell is excited to announce the release of its latest innovation, the ABP2 High Pressure / High Temperature (HP/HT) sensor range, revolutionizing board mount pressure sensing to cover high pressure measurements at elevated temperatures. With an additional layer of shock-proof adhesive around the housing, the ABP2 HP/HT is precision engineered with additional robustness to handle demanding environments with heat, vibrations, and pressure spikes of up to 40 bar. The ABP2 series in general are piezoresistive silicon pressure sensors offering a digital or analog output for reading pressure over the specified full scale pressure span and temperature range.
With new products, it is always important that they offer added value. Honeywell placed particular emphasis on this during the development of the ABP2 HP/HT, so that customers and partners would enjoy some real key benefits.

- Robust: Outstanding resistance to high pressure and high temperature, even at the same time. Very high resistance to burst and overpressure events.
- Accurate: High accuracy and long-term stability even under adverse conditions
- Cost effectiveness: Amongst the best performing sensors in the market at a comparative price point.
- Versatile: Small form factor and wide media compatibility make the HP/HT sensor a competitive alternative to other high-pressure solutions (e.g. packaged pressure products)
As an extension of the existing ABP2 series, we can now offer a wider range of configuration options. Here is a summary of the key features:
Due to the high pressure range that can be measured with such a small sensor, there are many advantages for applications where up to 20 bar is measured. Here are some examples of how and where the new ABP2 High Pressure and High Temperature variants can be used:

- Air compressors and braking systems: ABP2 HP/HT sensors are used to measure and regulate the flow of compressed air in braking and air compression systems
- Coffee machines: ABP2 HP/HT sensors measure the flow of pressurised, near-boiling water to the outlet
- Water pumps: ABP2 HP/HT sensors provide extra resistance to the effects of water hammer as pumps are turned on or off or valves are toggled open or closed
