Ruggedized Oscillators

SiTime offers an extensive portfolio of ruggedized Endura™ oscillators for aerospace and defense applications. These devices deliver the lowest acceleration sensitivity, best shock and vibration resistance, high-reliability (>1 billion hours MTBF), and superior dynamic performance under airflow, thermal gradients, pressure, and power supply noise. All Endura oscillators conform to MIL-PRF-55310 and MIL-STD-883 specifications. Standard or custom up-screening flows are available.

Endura devices can be factory-programmed to any combination of frequency, stability, and voltage within a wide range of parameters, eliminating the long lead times and customization costs associated with quartz TCXOs.

Ruggedized Super-TCXOs

Endura ruggedized Super-TCXOs are tight stability (±0.05 ppm to ±2.5 ppm), 1 to 220 MHz precision oscillators, engineered to deliver the most stable timing under environmental stressors – airflow, rapid temperature change, shock, vibration, poor power supply, and EMI.

  • Best acceleration sensitivity, 0.004 ppb/g (typ) – 50% better than quartz
  • 30,000g mechanical shock and 70g vibration resistance
  • Airflow and thermal shock resistant, 0.9 ppb/°C (ΔF/ΔT)
  • Excellent Allen deviation (ADEV), 1.5e-11, 10s averaging time
  • Low power supply noise rejection (PSNR), 0.2 ps/mV
  • I2C digital frequency tuning eliminates external DAC and sensitivity to board noise

Spread Spectrum Ruggedized Oscillators

SiTime’s Endura EMI-reduction oscillators ensure emissions compliance through two techniques: spread spectrum clocking and rise/fall time adjustment of the clock signal. These ruggedized devices, engineered for harsh environments, have ultra-low acceleration sensitivity and high temp operation.

  • EMI reduction up to 17 dB on fundamental frequency and 30 dB on harmonics
  • Wide spread range, up to 4% pk-to-pk
  • FlexEdge™ configurable rise/fall time options: 0.25 ns to 40 ns slew rates

SiTime offers Endura high-performance differential oscillators for high reliability aerospace and defense applications. These ruggedized devices provide low jitter and power supply noise rejection (PSNR) in the presence of environmental hazards, such as shock, vibration, noisy power supply, and EMI.

  • Ultra-low acceleration sensitivity, 0.1 ppb/g
  • Low 0.21 ps RMS jitter (typ.) in small industry-standard packages
  • ±10 ppm with better dynamic stability in harsh environmental conditions
  • Precise frequency steering, digital tuning to ±5 ppt

Digitally Controlled Ruggedized Oscillators

SiTime's Endura DCXOs enable users to program output frequency and pull frequency in-system using a digital interface (I2C or SPI), offering designers great flexibility for noiseless clock synchronization. This ruggedized family offers ultra-low acceleration sensitivity and low jitter.

  • Ideal for replacing multiple timing components in systems that support multiple frequencies
  • Any-frequency mode for programming output frequency via I2C or SPI from 1 MHz to 725 MHz
  • Frequency pulling/tuning up to ±3200 ppm via I2C or SPI with 0.005 ppb resolution and <1% linearity
  • Low 0.21 ps RMS (typ.) integrated phase jitter

SiTime MEMS VCXOs provide exceptional dynamic performance and high reliability for defense and aerospace applications. These ruggedized devices are engineered to maintain phase noise performance and frequency tuning accuracy in harsh environmental conditions.

  • Wide pull range, ±25  to ±3200 ppm, with <1% linearity
  • Low jitter, 0.21 ps RMS (12k to 20MHz)
