Comms & Scripting Manager by Enfora
DIOEventTool1 Development Software
Enfora's "Comms & Scripting Manager" (old name "Event Engine”) offers the possibility of programming Enfora GSM/GPRS modules (Enabler IIG/IIE, Enabler IIIG) and modems (SA-G, SA-GL, SA-EL) with the help of specific AT commands in a way that the module or the modems responds to specific input events with specific actions (output events). In this manner, the microcontroller of a hostsystem can be freed from complex GSM management tasks. A typical application, for example, are status messages regarding inputs, which can be programmed without too much effort being required with the help of the Comms & Scripting Manager.
Possible input events include changes of input ports (GPIOs, ADCs) and status changes (net registration, IP address). Output events encompass the setting or resetting (also toggling) of GPIOs and the triggering of complex processes, such as sending SMS or UDP messages to a server (e.g., to eye2m web portal).
The blinking status LED of the SA-G or SA-GL modems is also controlled via Comms & Scripting Manager control that was already programmed at Enfora. This control can be deleted or changed by the user if special functions are supposed to be assigned to the LED. After resetting of the modem or module to factory defaults (AT&F), the original LED function will once again be available.
With Enfora's “DIOEventTool1” development software offered for downloading here, getting started with the impressive capabilities of Enfora's Comms & Scripting Manager is fast and simple. The “scripts” generated can be sent directly into the modem and stored in non-volatile memory with the help of the tool. Please observe the instructions for using the DIOEventTool1 – “ReadMeFirst.pdf”.
